Ooo I am in looooveee with this fall engagement session in Delhi, NY near the gorgeous Maple Shade farm where Samantha & Nicholas will be getting married next year! We met at Fitches Bridge which stretches over the West Branch (excellent for trout fishing in case you were wondering). Fitches Bridge is one of 24 covered bridges in New York State and was built in 1870. When we first arrived we had to get to the side of the bridge to let this antique looking truck pass and I KID YOU NOT, THIS REALLY HAPPENED – the driver was wearing a vintage flat cap hat (I googled the name by looking up “old timey hat” because how else does one describe an old timey hat?!) and he looked right at me and tipped his hat at me. I looked at Samantha and Nicholas and was like “Did we just go through a time warp? Did you see that?”
Maybe it was just a guy with a vintage truck who wanted to play the part. OR MAYBE IT WAS A TIME WARP YOU GUYS. I’m sticking with the latter. My mind cannot be changed on this.
Anywho. Look at this gorgeous couple! I had so much fun working with them.
What we didn’t expect was a bunch of rain to roll in that morning BUT I was super thankful for the fact we had some coverage under the bridge. The rain did eventually let up a little bit so we could capture the fall foliage. I love all those reds and oranges in the background. Samantha gauged her outfit perfectly. Samantha & Nicholas love Disney and plan to incorporate little magical touches into their wedding day. I can’t wait to photograph what they come up with. You can’t do an engagement session during covid without some fancy masks. Love this one!Samantha and Nicholas met at Suny Delhi college so after Fitches bridge we jetted over to the campus in order to capture some sentimental shots. They said the sign is actually different from the one that was there when they attended but I think it looks nice all the same. The views at Suny Delhi are also incredible. You can see for miles and miles. I can’t wait to spend the day with these two at Maple Shade Farm! (I also can’t wait to see my friends Jay and Abby! They do an amazing job at putting on a wedding and the venue is GORGEOUS! I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a rustic venue. Check out my other blogs for some reference pictures!)
