Meet Shannon and Christopher!
Shannon and Christopher were married at the gorgeous and historic Linklaen house in Cazenovia, NY. This venue is STUNNING! I am so happy that I was able to shoot a wedding here. Not only was the scenery perfection, but the staff was wonderful. Everyone was so ready to help out and the event coordinator on site was a dream. She was not only professional but super friendly, easy to correlate with and incredibly organized. (For the record, that’s exactly what you want when getting married!)
Both Shannon and Chris got ready on site. (The Linklaen house is also a hotel.) When we first arrived, we were super impressed with the beautiful staircase and the layout of the rooms. You could feel the history walking through the hallways and I was intrigued from the moment I started climbing the stairs. Did I mention the staircase is beautiful? I did? Well let me tell you again. BEAUTIFUL. In fact, I told my assistants that this was the kind of staircase you “glide down” and I may have dramatically descended each time I came down them.
The first thing that I like to do when I begin is document the detail shots which are always followed by candids of the bride and groom getting ready. These are some of my most favorite!
Shannon and Chris decided to wear each other’s initials on their special day. I thought this was such a sweet touch.
They also wrote letters to each other. I love when brides and grooms do this. It not only helps to calm the nerves before they see each other but it creates such an intimate and sweet moment.
The flowers were provided by Wegmans but Chris’ mother put the bouquets together. Didn’t she do an amazing job? I love the blend of yellow and purple!
This is such a sweet moment captured by my right hand photographer, Brittni Stasiuk. The fact that Chris’ mother designed the boutonnière makes this moment that much more special.
The ceremony took place in the Linklaen’s house main ballroom. There’s a fireplace in the center of the room that brings a homey yet classy feel to the whole ambiance.
One of my most favorite shots from all the pictures we took of Shannon and Chris’ wedding was one we recreated for Chris’ parents. I wish I had the original so I could show them side by side! I think it’s such a cool idea to recreate parent wedding photos.
We took so many bride and groom portraits that it was so hard to pick a limited amount for the blog. I want to show them ALL. We decided to visit the park (which you could see right from the venue) for some lake photos and then continue right at the Lincklaen house. These are some of my top favorites!
I love the back patio of the Lincklaen house. It almost has a Tuscan feel about it. It was such a pretty place for portraits.
The reception was nothing but fun. There was so much dancing! (Family and friends, be sure to check out the reception gallery in Shannon and Chris’ wedding folder!) And just check out this cake…
Shannon and Christopher had the perfect day. I’m so happy and honored that I could partake in their day and document these memories for them. Be sure to check out the list of vendors below. Everyone did a fabulous job contributing to this wedding day!
