Jenna + Chad – Greene, NY Wedding

You guys! It snowed today. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?

I’m not even mad about it, honestly. In fact, I’m one of those crazy New York people who love the snow and cozy and quiet that winter brings. It’s my time to snuggle up in warm sweatshirts adorned with chickadees and other forest animals (I’m really into dressing like your 90 year old Grandma) and dream about all the new things I’m going to focus on in order for my business to grow and thrive in the next wedding season.

It’s pretty magical.

Also, there’s CHRISTMAS! And I am SO excited for that.

But the best thing about this cold season is I get to relive all of my weddings by not only finishing up edits but blogging them.

Blogging weddings can be a feat sometimes because in order to write something worth reading, your  brain really needs to be in the right place. Writing is not easy my friends. Especially if you want it to mean something. And I always do.

Writing to me is just as important and as much of an art form as taking pictures. The difference is I’m a novice at writing. It’s a new love discovered and I’m having just as much fun dreaming about it as I am putting this new found hobby into action. I hope you’ll bear with me as I continue to find ways to make my words as worthy to read as the pictures are to look at.

And, as always, thank you for being here.

NOW! Jenna and Chad…When we first met, Jenna and Chad invited me over to their house in order to see if we jived. Thankfully we did and we spent a long time chatting and getting to know each other. They were planning to host their wedding right on their property and wanted to make sure they were entrusting the photography portion of the day to the right person.

I write that and it sounds so egocentric but I swear, I am super honored every single time someone hires me. I always try to remain humble because photographing a wedding day is a HUGE deal. There are no bad days allowed on this job. There are no sick calls (up until Covid anyway! and there are plans put in place for that ALWAYS from here on out) and no moments missed to be allowed. One slip up and mishap is a giant smear on ones business if they’re not careful and fully prepared to take on the responsibility of this job.

This is why I take my business to heart and I make sure every detail is covered, every moment captured and every couple parts ways with me knowing that I put my heart and soul into the preservation of one of the biggest days of their lives. Almost 100% of the time, my clients make this part easy because I connect so well with those who choose to hire me. I’m pretty lucky and super grateful.
Jenna and Chad got ready right at their house. They decided against having a bridal party and instead chose a handful of their nearest and dearest to be present for their ceremony while inviting extended family and friends to their reception. Their ceremony was short and sweet and I loved photographing it. For being a small backyard wedding, Jenna and Chad did an incredible job decorating and including all those special wedding day details.I love that they wrote their own wedding vows.
The ceremony was celebrated by a private toast before we moved on to my favorite portion of the day.The wedding portraits! These were taken right on their property and then we took a quick trip up the road for some pretty field shots.I can never decide between a good black and white and color. The reception was a blast and catered by Dinosaur BBQ. YUM!Of course this is a Gabriella Cake. So beautiful!I’m so happy I could be a part of Jenna and Chad’s wedding day.

A huge shoutout to these vendors for helping to make the day so special!
