A Romantic Adirondack Wedding in Lake Placid NY
Christine & Griffin
Throwing it back to this amazing Adirondack wedding in Lake Placid!
The night before Christine & Griffin’s wedding, I was driving up to Lake Placid with my husband and my dog, Josie. Thankfully my husband was driving because I wanted…no, I NEEDED to look at all the cliffs, mountains, streams full of boulders and gorgeous landscapes. I grew up in the Adirondacks but south of the high peeks and let me tell you, there is a massive difference. It was so stunningly beautiful and I was overflowing with gratitude that Christine & Griffin chose me as their wedding photographer.
Coincidentally, the Airbnb I booked was only a couple doors down from Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort. I actually didn’t plan for this, it just worked out that way. The day of the wedding, I packed up my camera bag and literally walked a few steps to the resort to begin the day.
I, of course, had to get a picture of Christine’s dress with White Face in the background.

Christine made her own bouquet so she supplied me with some gorgeous flat lay flowers. Griffin even made his own boutonniere!

The bride and groom decided that they wanted to do a first look and get the majority of their photos out of the way before the wedding ceremony. There’s a cute little beach right outside the resort so we staged the first look there and then walked around Golden Arrow, some of downtown Lake Placid and we even popped over to my airbnb since there were some sweet Adirondack chairs over there.

It was so fun watching these two interact. I love a couple that plays together. Those cute, silly moments are always my favorite to capture. They had this running joke where they would take turns posing and going “Oo, Ahhhh” and I am really hoping that this is something they still do and will continue to do for the rest of their lives.

By the time the wedding ceremony rolled around, most of the resort was in the shade which I was grateful for because no one likes to squint on their wedding day.

The ceremony was followed by a gondola ride. The lake was still sun soaked and I probably could have taken a bajillion more photos out here. The ones of Christine posing are my absolute FAVORITES. She’s obviously a stunning woman but you match that with a stunning backdrop on a GONDOLA no less, and it’s every photographers dream.

The reception took place inside Golden Arrow’s ballroom. They had a live wedding painter who was SO talented (shoutout Greer Linksvayer Art), yummy Polish desserts and a dance floor that wouldn’t quit. I mean that in the best way possible because that’s obviously what you want. (shoutout DJ Sizzle!)

I had so much fun at this wedding and am so looking forward to my future Adirondack and Lake Placid weddings!
