Maple Shade Farm Wedding – Siobhan + Josh

Hello and welcome to the new year! I’m so excited to start mine off with Siobhan + Josh’s wedding day blog. These two are some of my most favorite clients of all time and I’m pumped to show them off. You might remember them from the epic engagement session where they took me on an adventure to New Milford’s train station right outside of Cooperstown. We not only took some gorgeous engagement portraits with and inside of the trains but got to explore some of the history of this particular train station. Josh also schooled me along the way as he’s basically a train expert and I have a much deeper appreciation for trains now. At some point I’m going to blog that engagement session but FIRST! Siobhan + Josh’s Maple Shade wedding.

I always love booking weddings at Maple Shade Farm in Delhi, NY. This historic farm venue is situated in the Catskills not far from the Delaware river. The scenery here is so beautiful and the weddings are always gorgeous.

One of the best parts of Maple Shade Farm is that they’re super detail oriented. If you’re looking for a venue that puts a lot of focus on the little details that pull your rustic wedding into something worthy of magazine publication, this is the spot for you.

While Josh finished getting ready right at Maple Shade, I was off with Siobhan and her bride tribe at a nearby airbnb. This place was so cool. I felt like I had walked onto a movie set when I arrived. The lighting was perfection for getting ready photos.

Look at these dapper fellas.

Workout sessions to prep your biceps for pictures and personal modeling sessions to show off your bridal jammies are a must.

I love the idea of the bride and groom writing each other a letter and sending along a pre-wedding gift before the first look or ceremony. These moments are some of my most favorite to capture.

Siobhan + Josh chose to do a first look. I love doing first looks behind the barn. The light here is so pretty.

The wedding ceremony took place next to the pond. This day was so sunny and warm with just a hint of a breeze. It was the most perfect weather for a wedding day.

After the ceremony guests celebrated by showering the couple in bird seed.

Cocktail hour was amazing. The food was incredible and the guests were happy to mingle around and play lawn games. I can’t emphasize enough how good the food was. Those are mini tacos and they were DELICIOUS. Do you know what’s more delicious than a giant taco? A mini taco. It’s like each bite is a whole taco. But mini.

I don’t want to brag but that’s probably the best description I’ve ever written about food and I’m now considering becoming a food blogger.

We got to sneak out around sunset for some gorgeous lowlight photos. I love that dreamy yellow glow.

The reception was SO much fun. Siobhan + Josh brought along conductor hats and whistles for everyone. (You better believe my assistant and I shot the rest of the wedding in conductor hats.) There were s’mores, an ice cream bar, donuts, cake, macaroni and cheese ice cream cones (don’t hate, they were incredible), cigars, boating, games and so much dancing. We ended the night with a sparkler sendoff and I was genuinely sad to say goodbye.

I want to give a huge shoutout to these fellow vendors who worked so hard to make Siobhan + Josh’s rustic Catskills wedding so absolutely perfect. All of these vendors are highly recommended so if you’re reading this and in the midst of planning your own wedding, definitely check them out!
