Nina + Chris (Gilbertsville Farmhouse Wedding Venue – Destination Wedding)

It’s my first day back in the office since vacation ended and I am so excited to sit here and share Nina + Chris’ wedding with you. I’m not even saying that because it’s a great and easy opening line. I genuinely love sitting in my office working on blogs. Blogs take a looonggggg time. At least for ME they do. I am meticulous to my core. I search through each image from a wedding day (usually well over 1000 images) and hand pick each one I want to share with you. This generally ends up being a few hundred because I just can’t help myself. Nina and Chris are not an exception to this and in fact, you might think I’m just a LITTLE BIT obsessed with how gorgeous Nina is by the end of this blog. There are so many beautiful pictures of her and I couldn’t skip past them. Firstly, DETAILS. Nina’s dress is incredible and probably one of my most favorite from the 2019 wedding season. I love when brides choose wedding dresses that are unique. Personally I’m very boho chic in the way I dress and decorate my life so when I saw this dress I melted into a happy puddle and brought it to one of the most beautiful spots at Gilbertsville Farmhouse to be photographed. This is a great idea if you’re looking for a rustic, woodsy way to have your rings presented at the wedding.
LOOK AT THESE FLOWERS!! The incredible women at C & A Event Planning created the bouquets and flower arrangements for Nina and Chris’ wedding. These colors on a fall day are to die for. I love these floral arrangements. The milking barn at Gilbertsville Farmhouse is one of my favorite spots for detail shots on the day of. It’s also a beautiful spot for wedding portraits. (Keep scrolling for a peak at those.)Wedding day tribe! I love the matching shirts. “After this we’re getting pizza.”In the recent past Gilbertsville Farmhouse built a micro hotel on their property to accommodate their wedding guests. The building and rooms are gorgeous and the accommodations are perfect for a wedding day.Nina + Chris exchanged cards and little gifts before their first look.In case you were wondering how Nina felt about it…LOOK AT THIS LITTLE GUY! If you’re thinking of including your furry family member on your wedding day but can’t decide, let me help you. The answer is obviously always YES. Look at his little bow tie! I’m crying. While I was with Nina and her bridal party, Kristy was up with the guys at the glamping tents. Below is the same sweet little face as before. He just likes to move around. Probably one of the coolest tie clips I’ve seen yet. There’s always that one guy, am I right?I promise you, Chris isn’t always this serious but these are some dapper photos. Ashley from C & A Event Planning on site to help with the boutonnieres. She does an incredible job the day of, as always. Chris loved his gift too. This is such a cute idea. Nina + Chris had their first look in one of the ceremony spots at Gilbertsville Farmhouse. This particular spot is in a shady, wooded area that welcomes you via a candle lit path. This was one of those super hot, extremely bright and sunny fall days. Back when I first started shooting I used to panic a little inside when the light was this bright. Back then I interpreted it as harsh and fickle to work with. Over a decade later and this kind of light makes me swoon. It can still be a bugger to work with but when you find that sweet spot, it is breath taking. Speaking of breath taking, LOOK AT NINA! LOOK AT HER!I’m sorry for yelling. But look at her. First look photos are always the best. After the first look we went right into wedding portraits. Get ready for a bajillion pictures. By bajillion pictures, I meant mostly of Nina. Same photo, 4 different angles. Because I had to. Because it was necessary. Because every single one is gorgeous. Because I can’t help myself. You thought we were done. But we’re not. 70,000 more pictures of Nina. HERE WE GO.We took a few of Chris too because we didn’t want him to feel left out. There are so many spots at Gilbertsville Farmhouse to shoot at. This is one I never used before but I’m so glad we found it. We had to do a little hiking but that’s ok. As long as my clients are up for it, I’m ok battling my way through the bushes and bugs to find that golden spot. You can’t get married at Gilbertsville Farmhouse and NOT take pictures with the animals. Lucky for us they had a litter of kittens who needed some cuddling. I love the animals here. You can tell they’re so well loved and part of the family. This guy likes to photobomb photos more than anything. Back to the milking barn! I love the lights in here. It’s such a pretty spot for wedding portraits. And in black and white for good measure.Again, this bouquet!!! Chris can look like a pretty serious dude in his pictures but then he does this. Awwwwww, all the feels! So many kisses!Nina and Chris had one of the largest wedding parties of 2019. Again, I was LOVING that sunlight on their wedding day. We found another photobomber.
The ceremony took place up on the hill. This spot has views for days. One of the most stunning backdrops you can have for a wedding. The officiant was AWESOME and we loved him.I love when people do goofy stuff like this at weddings. I mean, it’s kinda sweet too.
First kiss as husband and wife! This flower petal send off was beautiful! I love how Nina and Chris put a boho chic spin on this rustic venue. The dining set up was stunning. There were SO many details to capture. If you’re looking for some rustic/boho wedding inspiration, you’re in the right place. My most favorite part of the venue space is always the dessert table. YUM.The first dance as husband as wife followed by the parent dances. The speeches were clearly a hit. This wedding cake was almost too beautiful to cut into. The Metropolitan Players band kept the party and dancing going all night. They were incredible! One of Gilbertsville’s furry friends visiting the party. At the end of the night Chris and his band surprised Nina with their own performance. This was one of the most perfect weddings. It was a gorgeous day and their wedding was filled with friends, family and SO much love. It was an honor to be a part of it. A huge thanks to these vendors for helping to make their day so special. It was truly a pleasure working with everyone!
