Gilbertsville Farmhouse is one of my most favorite venues to shoot at. Holly and Alan’s wedding is the first out of three weddings I’ll be shooting there this wedding season and after not seeing my Gilbertsville fam for so long, I was SUPER pumped to arrive and start the day.
When I showed up I was shocked to see that Sharon had added on an additional building to the property for the wedding party and guests to stay in. I had no idea this had happened! This new addition is GORGEOUS and an awesome place for a weekend stay. It’s also perfect for the bridal party to get ready in since the space is so expansive AND the downstairs area boasts this giant mirror. Photographers LOVE giant mirrors, in case you were wondering.
I love that Holly wore Tom’s for her wedding.
This truck will forever be my favorite place for detail shots. And portraits. And just hanging around. I wonder if the original owner every thought that one day their truck would be an iconic prop at a wedding venue. This mirror though. Add a gorgeous bride and I can’t stop taking pictures. While Holly was getting ready, my amazing assistant Lizzie was up at the glamping tents with the guys getting pictures.
How beautiful is the inside of this glamping tent?I love this sweet action shot Lizzie captured.Ok, everyone tell Holly how gorgeous she is!
Ok, everyone stop telling Holly how gorgeous she is before she ruins her makeup!
Sisters. <3
Holly was such a stunning bride. I couldn’t stop taking pictures of her. Holly and Alan did their first look in the woods nearby. This was such a sweet moment to capture.
After the first look we went right into the portrait section of our day. This day was SO hot and humid so we did our best to stay in the woods. It wasn’t a bad thing in the least because the greenery was such a pretty back drop.
After a short break to cool off, we got to do something amazing. WE GOT TO PLAY WITH PUPPIES!!!!!!!!
Lizzie got this shot of me getting my snuggle on. I wanted to take this little guy home with me. Lizzie found true love too! Her expression exudes pure joy! And maybe that’s a yawn or pure joy as well since there was definitely a mutual adoration going on. Sharon and Katie brought the puppies out for the bride and bridesmaids to snuggle. I love getting to work with Sharon and Katie at Gilbertsville Farmhouse. I’m so happy we snapped these pics of them. These two are seriously rockstars!Holly and her bridesmaids were just as enamored as we were.
Gilbertsville Farmhouse is also home to quite a few other animals! They’re famous for their goat yoga and there were tons of baby goats about!
There was also this guy whose head I tried to pat. As soon as I did he jerked his head sideways as if to say “How DARE you, you MONSTER?” So I let him be. Gilbertsville Farmhouse is also home to a donkey, some cute kittens, chickens and turkeys. I’m sure there’s more that I’m forgetting! And then there’s Duke and Maggie. Duke loves to wander around and greet everyone in exchange for some pets and lovins. I’m crazy about this gentle giant and his mate.
I’m obviously obsessed with animals. Now that I’m done being a giant cream cheese gooey ball of melted happy Jen, ack to Holly and Alan’s gorgeous wedding photos!
Holly and Alan were married up on the hill surrounded by their friends and family. The ceremony was perfect. It couldn’t have been a better day for a rustic wedding.
The first kiss as husband and wife! The reception space at Gilbertsville Farmhouse is like something out of a movie. It doesn’t get more picturesque than here. Speeches were done by the best man and Holly’s twin sister. At one point during her speech she said that the most common question they get is “Are you guys twins?” I shamefully had to raise my hand a little bit because guess who asked that same question? Me guys. I asked. I’ve never seen a half moon cake/giant cookie before. This is what dreams are made of.Holly’s father passed away so in his honor, his ring was placed around this bouquet of babies breath. I’m sure he was there in spirit. If you’re looking for the best favor idea in the world, look no further. S’MORES!!!! Gilbertsville Farmhouse hosts a giant bonfire once it gets dark. What a great way to end the night. But before night comes, let’s talk about the incredible sunsets at this location. I mean, WOW. It gets me every time. The lighting is always on point and the backdrop is breath taking.
It was such an honor to shoot Holly and Alan’s wedding. A huge thank you to my assistant Lizzie for being amazing and so much fun! Also Sharon and Katie for always doing an amazing job. We LOVE working with you, always!
Also a huge thank you to these vendors for making Holly and Alan’s day so awesome!
