Gilbertsville Farmhouse is one of my most favorite rustic venues to visit. Not only do I get to see my good friends Sharon, Aldo and Katie who keep this place running like a fine tuned piece of farm equipment (Get it, because it’s a farm? I know. I’m the WORST.) but this place is a GORGEOUS backdrop for all things wedding. Like, for starters, the milk barn. Not only is it a killer spot for detail shots but it’s also an incredible lounge for cocktail hour. Usually the guests are spending time in here right before the ceremony as well. And my favorite truck. Even the rust looks cool. I swoon every time I see this thing. Check out this little sweetheart. Kids and mirrors = SO CUTE.
Even Forest the Golden Doodle got dressed up. (Forest was the ring bearer.)
We did a bridal party first look and it was AWESOME. I’m obviously a little bit obsessed with this mirror AND this bride. While the ladies were getting ready, the guys were soaking up the sun on the pond. LIKE SERIOUSLY YOU GUYS!? What other wedding venue lets you paddle around on a paddle boat in a gorgeous setting before the ceremony? And for the record, Gilbertsville is not paying me to be so excited about all of this. I just love the people and this venue THAT much. I would live here.
They also have very friendly turkey friends. Check out this little lovey dove. Rory did eventually get ready with a little help from his friends and then ventured over to a pretty spot in the forest for the first look with his future wife.
The first look was precious. I loved capturing these two seeing each other for the first time.
Fun fact! When you have an awesome videographer like Mike Zale from Bokeh Films, the amount of images you get for your portraits naturally doubles. Not only am I giving you some direction for your bride and groom photos, but the videographer does too. So you have TWO artistic energies coming at you and the end result is SO many amazing portraits. Like so many. You guys….so many. Are you ready for this? Get ready to scroll. (I couldn’t help myself.)
PUPPIES!!!!
The ceremony took place on a beautiful hill overlooking a country valley overtaken by summer. The weather couldn’t have been more accommodating for Megan and Rory’s wedding ceremony.
We especially loved that they included one of Gilbertsville’s goats as part of their wedding party. She looks pretty pleased with herself.
How cute are these two?I love this action shot that my assistant Mary captured. Forest was REALLY happy that his Mommy and Daddy were getting married.Fun fact! If the groom starts crying, I start crying too. I can’t help it. I’m such a sap. I seriously have the best job ever and love getting to capture these moments. It arrows straight to my heart and gives me all the feels. First kiss as husband and wife!See guys? I’m not the only sap!The reception space was stunning. It can’t get more perfect than the inside of Gilbertsville Farmhouse’s main barn.
These centerpieces were so pretty! The cake cutting was one of the best parts of the reception. It’s rare we get a couple so willing to smash cake into each other’s faces. When it happens, it’s GOLD. Always. Rory and Megan did a great job!My favorite picture of Megan. RIGHT IN THE HAIR and she looks so happy about it. I was dying while editing these photos.
We finished up our night with some golden hour sunset shots followed by a sparkler send off. Gilbertsville Farmhouse has, hands down, the most beautiful sunsets I’ve ever seen. We had so much fun shooting Megan + Rory’s wedding. A huge thanks to my second shooter for the day, Mary. Mary lost her keys from all the rolling around in the grass she did in order to help capture some gorgeous shots and ended up in the field above the reception IN THE DARK, BY HERSELF (by choice guys – I lost her and had no idea where she went.) to look for them. MARY YOU COULD HAVE BEEN EATEN BY A COYOTE. YOU’RE SO BRAVE. But she found them and was the greatest assistant, as always.
Also a huge thanks to Sharon, Aldo and Katie. You guys are rockstars and I LOVE working with you. You make Gilbertsville Farmhouse AMAZING and this place wouldn’t be all that it is without you, your vision and your hard work. I see you and appreciate you all so much.
AND a huge thanks to Mike Zale. Your newfound friendship is already super cherished and working with you was such a pleasure. We hope to work with you again soon! (Bokeh films ya’ll! Check them out if you need a videographer!)
