I’m so excited for Megan + Steve to be on the blog today! Especially since it gives me a chance to relive part of the summer. Don’t get me wrong, fall is my favorite and I’m totally enamored by all the smells and colors but I’m still partly in denial that summer is over. This wedding season has been one of the busiest ones I’ve ever experienced in my 12 years of being a wedding photographer. I only have 3 more weddings until I tie up the season. That’s just so crazy for me to fathom right now. Where did this summer go?

The day started at Greek Peek where Megan was getting ready. Look at her stunning dress! This beauty came from Dress Your Fancy in Vestal, NY. I see so many beautiful dresses come out of this shop. If you’re in the market, I highly recommend making an appointment with them.

I’m pretty sure Gucci should hire me at this point since I’ve done so many product shoots with their Gucci bloom perfume.

Guys only take 5 minutes to get ready so there was time for a boy band poster shoot before the wedding.
The ceremony and reception took place at Celebrations in Ithaca, NY. From the road it doesn’t look like there’s much to this place and then you arrive and there are TONS of gorgeous spots for photos. I loved working at this venue. The staff were also amazing and so helpful!

Celebrations in Ithaca has this really awesome “secret garden” looking wall which I’m a big fan of. We spent some time here and then traipsed around the property. I saw some purple flowers down near the woods and Megan + Steve were super adventurous in walking through the thickets in order to get to them.
Totally worth it though.
The sun was so bright in the earlier photos so we took a break and came back out when the light wasn’t so harsh. Even though it was still light out, I love the softer looks of these wedding portraits in contrast.
We also had to make sure we included a picture with their cat. Cat people are my people.
The reception space at Celebrations was SO cool. I love that part of the theme was books. ESPECIALLY Harry Potter. I’m a big fan and thought this was such an awesome way to number the tables.
We had so much fun at this wedding and I loved photographing these two. We have an Adventure Shoot planned in November up in the Adirondacks so stay tuned for THAT blog because it’s going to be epic.
