Rachel + Cody (Windham Mountain Resort)

I swear, I’m going to spend the rest of my life sharing posts of Rachel and Cody’s wedding. For my fellow wedding photographers – Do you ever shoot a wedding and adore your clients and all the details of their wedding so much that you honestly feel sad it’s all over? Rachel and Cody – Can you guys just get married all over again?

Rachel + Cody were married at Windham Mountain resort in Windham, NY. This is my first time shooting here and I seriously cannot wait to go back. What a gorgeous place for a wedding! I need more mountain weddings in my life. The fact that there was a wedding day timeline taped to the door with a bandaid made me laugh so it was well worth the documentation.
I always start with detail shots first. IN LOVE with Rachel’s wedding day earrings. Before getting into her wedding dress, Rachel and her bridesmaids did a wedding day cheers. Rachel got her dress from Dress Your Fancy in Vestal, NY. I highly recommend visiting them if you’re looking for your wedding dress. Their customer service can’t be beat!Wedding day tip! If you have buttons on your dress you should be prepared with a crochet hook to help button you up faster. If you don’t have a crochet hook, make sure your bridesmaids have a gorgeous manicure like this one and you’ll be all set. So stunningly BEAUTIFUL. Those eyelashes though.Get you a bridesmaid who has this reaction after you’re all wedding day ready. While I was photographing Rachel and her bridesmaids getting ready, Brittni was photographing the guys.I’m a big Disney fan so naturally I LOVE THESE CUFFLINKS! Robbie needed three guys to help him with his tie. (Robbie and I go way back so I’m allowed to pick on him.)
Rachel and Cody had their first look outside of the main resort at Windham mountain. The sun was HIGH but I honestly love shooting with all that light. This was such a sweet moment. So when Rachel and Cody first booked with me they informed me that I would need to get on a ski lift to get to where they were having their ceremony. Soon after signing their contract, I saw a viral video on facebook with an out of control ski lift that would swing a chair around and smash into the chair in front of it. Naturally, I was thrilled. I’m not so great with heights anyway but I don’t let fear control my life you guys!! Which is why on the way up, my assistant and dearest friend Brittni held my hand the whole way. Check out my highlights on Instagram for pictures of how excited I looked. It’s really attractive. I don’t think I’ve ever been more pretty, honestly. At the top of Windham mountain there’s a platform with an arbor and seating specifically for wedding ceremonies. The view is GORGEOUS. We’ll get to that soon.First kiss as husband and wife! The sun was SO bright you guys! But we took a few out in the sunshine because the back drop was just so pretty. I don’t even think this picture of Rachel was planned. Sometimes candid photos are the best photos.
These flowers were from Sam’s Club. Whaaaaatttttt??? Who knew. When the forest is lit up with sunshine it creates this super dreamy effect. Put a bride in the middle of it all and it’s straight out of a fairytale.I posted this picture and then looked down at my own nails. Guess what I’m doing after work today?
Rachel is absolutely stunning. I remember when I reached out to a photographer forum and asked everyone how many photos would be appropriate for a blog. A lot of them said 15-20 images. How about over 100? I can’t help myself.Sometimes black and white photos change the whole emotion behind a portrait. Here are some of my most favorite from this Windham Mountain wedding.AJ Tella was the videographer for their wedding day. He was incredible. So much fun to work with and his work itself is out of this world. We really enjoyed hanging back on some of his shots and shooting from afar. The reception space was gorgeous. It would be so easy to turn this space into something rustic inspired or classic. It really could go either way.First dance as husband and wife!YUM.
Johnny Only was the DJ. WE LOVE HIM SO MUCH! Occasionally he brings his fabulous daughter Mikayla along. Mikayla is a beam of sunlight and she really knows how to get a party going. This cake was made by one of my previous brides. You can find her at Dulces by Danielle. She baked my daughters unicorn birthday cake as well. I’m not just saying this because I adore and love Danielle but her cakes taste way better than any other cake I’ve ever eaten. GIRLSCOUTS HONOR. I swear. We had so much fun shooting this wedding. I would love to do it all over again. Who’s getting married at Windham Mountain?!?!
