Welcome to the wedding of Annie + Kurt. <3
This wedding took place at the stunning Tremen Center in Ithaca, NY. This property borders Robert Tremen State Park and is an absolute masterpiece. This barn was originally located elsewhere and moved to this property to be rebuilt by a master builder and his artist wife. Every aspect of this place is a reflection of their impressive vision and I not only wanted to photograph every corner of this place but I wanted to live here too. If I ever get around to building a home, I would like to think it would look something like this.
The bridal suite is located on the third floor and is juuuuust sooooo beautiful. This is where one would want to spend a cozy day reading, painting or writing their novel. It’s also where one who’s about to be married would want to get ready. Annie and Kurt couldn’t have chosen better for their wedding venue.
A champagne toast is always a good idea.
While I was upstairs with Annie and her bridesmaids, my lovely assistant Brittni was downstairs with Kurt and his groomsmen. They were finishing getting ready in the garden that was surrounded, not only by native plants, but tropical ones too. I love the contrast of the green leaves against the stone wall.
Getting ready photos are some of my most favorite. I recommend that if you’re looking for a wide array of what the day looked like from this point, you consider a second photographer. There’s no way I could have captured all of this by myself and having a second photographer on board results in so many more photos.
The original picture of Annie sitting in the window was prefaced by a bridesmaid posing with her champagne. The light was so perfect and even though the picture was kind of a joke at first I was like “No…this is actually SO beautiful”. So if you’re a bridesmaid, just know you might get your own photoshoot which is a great thing because then it sets up that masterpiece shot of the bride. These are some of the first I posted of Annie on social media because I loved the lighting so much.
The first look took place in the garden next to the stone wall. Naturally.
We then went immediately into wedding portraits. What a dream to shoot here. If there was a graph representing my happy little artistry juju heart, it would have been shooting up at a near 90 degree angle.
The ceremony also took place in the gardens. I love Ithaca weddings. Have I mentioned that before?
Annie + Kurt were introduced into their cocktail hour. This is a perk of doing a first look and all wedding portraits beforehand. We not only got to photograph candids of them during their cocktail hour but we got to sneak away before anyone could enter the reception space so we could get some detail shots.
The reception was full of dancing and delicious food. We had a blast mingling and photographing all the fun.
Annie and Kurt’s wedding was one of my most favorite Ithaca, NY weddings. We also enjoyed working with all of the vendors! Please check them out and consider them for your own Ithaca wedding.
